My Evil Housekeeper

GoodNovel Completed

After I returned home from traveling abroad, I found that our housekeeper had sued my husband and me. In court, she cradled her protruding belly and said with heart-wrenching anguish, "Gary and his wife are absolute scum! Under the guise of hiring a housekeeper, they lured me into their home, tied me to a bed, and abused me. "The child I'm carrying is Gary's!" Her mother, meanwhile, was sobbing uncontrollably. "Those two monsters have ruined my daughter's life. They deserve the death penalty!" No sooner had she spoken than a chorus of curses against my husband and me erupted from the gallery. "That scum is utterly brazen. He didn't even show up for the hearing! He must be punished severely!" "Exactly! Look at his wife. She's actually smiling! She's completely devoid of humanity. They both deserve to die!" The very next moment, I produced a piece of evidence that made everyone gasp in shock.

They both deserve to die!" The very next moment, I produced a piece of evidence that made everyone gasp in shock. Chapter 1 I, Susan Jenner, had just arrived home. I started scrolling through Facebook like I always did. Suddenly, a post asking for help popped up. I tapped on it. The title made me freeze. [I'm a housekeeper. My employer sexually assaulted me. What should I do?] The deion below the post made me frown involuntarily. [Not long after I started working there, the woman of the house said she was going on vacation. She left me alone in the house.] [Right after she left, her husband came back.] The word 'vacation' made me pause. I had just returned from vacation, and I had also recently hired a new housekeeper. I continued scrolling down. [He dragged me into the bedroom. I was too scared to fight back. After doing those things to me, he even warned me not to tell anyone. I'm very scared.] [I just found out I'm pregnant. The mistress is back too. I don't know what to do.] [Oh, right. The master said his wife knew about everything when he was sexually assaulting me.] [Just call the cops already! Don't let those two off the hook!] [They're actually accomplices? This is way too disgusting!] [It's been quite some time. It'll be hard to clarify things. I suggest you talk to your employer and demand compensation.] I continued scrolling down. The poster liked the final comment and replied to it. [Thanks for the suggestion. I'll try talking to them.] Right then, our housekeeper, Joanne Wagner, who had been carrying out her cleaning duties, suddenly spoke. "Ma'am, there's something I'd like to talk to you about." My heart sank. For some reason, I recalled the post I'd just read. I kept a straight face. "Go ahead." Her voice was so soft it was barely audible. "I'm three months into my pregnancy. "T-The child is Mr. Levine's." I froze, and for a moment, the room seemed to spin. That was absurd. The Mr. Levine she was referring to was my husband, Gary Levine. I asked almost instinctively, "Do you even realize what you're saying?" Joanne nodded while tears welled up in her eyes. "Ma'am, don't worry. I have no intention of ruining your family. "All I ask is that you give me 500 grand for the child's support, plus another 200 grand as compensation for the harm I've suffered. "From now on, I'll never bother you or your husband again." At first glance, her words sounded considerate enough. In reality, she was demanding an outrageous amount of money. Looking at the seriousness on her face, I found the whole thing laughable. I knew perfectly well that my husband would never do such a thing. I steadied myself and stared directly at her before speaking slowly and clearly. "You're trying to extort me. You won't get a single cent from me!" Joanne frowned slightly as she looked at me. "Woman to woman, you should understand. No woman would lie about something like this. "Besides, that amount of money is nothing to you. "I don't want to make things ugly either." I sneered. "Maybe I can afford it, but that doesn't mean I'm some fool you can take advantage of!" When she saw that I wasn't backing down, Joanne suddenly raised her voice. Her gaze turned harsh. "Are you sure you won't pay? Fine. I’ll post it on the forum and every social media platform, and I’ll even contact your company. I won’t leave any of them out!" I met her gaze. "Go ahead. I'll fight you to the end." Joanne glared at me fiercely. "Fine. Let's see whether you're still this tough when we're standing in court!" With that, she turned around, slammed the door behind her, and stormed out. Chapter 2 Joanne posted an edited version of our conversation online that same day. It quickly caused an uproar. The post went viral, and the comments section was filled with insults directed at me. They called us an evil couple, scum, and accomplices. Less than a week later, I received a court summons. On the day of the hearing, I arrived at the courthouse on time. The moment I entered the courtroom, I saw Joanne and her mother Ruth Wagner sitting at the plaintiff's table. As I walked past them, Joanne immediately lowered her head and hunched her shoulders. She looked frightened and helpless. Ruth immediately pulled her protectively into her arms and glared at me. "Don't be afraid, sweetheart. I'm here. "With so many people here today, those evil monsters will finally get what they deserve!" I stopped in front of them and nodded in agreement. "That's right. Evildoers always get what they deserve." Joanne's eyelashes fluttered slightly. I said nothing more and walked straight to the defendant's table. The gavel fell, and the trial officially began. The plaintiff's attorney was the first to stand. "First of all, Your Honor, I would like my client to describe what happened." Joanne sniffled and began speaking through tears. "Ma'am, no, Susan tricked me into going to her home by pretending to hire me. At first, she told me that she lived alone and that I would only be responsible for preparing her meals and doing the daily cleaning. "After I had worked there for over a month, she said she was going on vacation and left me alone in the house. Before she left, she gave me a bottle of something to drink. After I drank it, I started feeling dizzy. Then her husband came back and dragged me into the bedroom." As she spoke, tears rolled down her face. "T-That man pinned me to the bed and assaulted me." Joanne's words immediately caused an uproar in the courtroom. The spectators began shouting indignantly. "That's inhuman!" "This was clearly planned by the couple!" Ignoring the insults around me, I stood up and spoke coldly. "My husband would never do something like that!" I then turned to face Joanne. "If that really happened, why didn't you call the police immediately?" Joanne burst into tears. "He said that if I told anyone, my family and I would suffer. "I'm only a housekeeper. How could I possibly fight people like you? It wasn't until I discovered that I was pregnant that I finally found the courage to stand up for myself and demand justice–" Hushed murmurs immediately spread through the courtroom, interspersed with a few curses from the gallery. "What an animal!" "His wife isn't any better. She's protecting a rapist!" Ruth seized the opportunity to cry out. "My daughter's entire life has been ruined!" As she wiped away her tears, she shot me a brief, triumphant glance. I frowned and raised my voice. "You're lying. My husband could never have raped you." The plaintiff's attorney immediately objected. "Your Honor, we have crucial evidence." While everyone watched, he took out a USB drive and inserted it into his computer. After setting everything up, an audio recording began playing through the courtroom speakers. First came a desperate cry. "Ma'am! Help me!" That was followed by a man's deep, mocking laugh. "Are you actually calling Susan for help? "Looks like you still haven't figured out what's going on. She left the house specifically to give the two of us some privacy. "As long as you make me happy, you can have money, work, and whatever you want. We can talk about it. Just do as I say." Then came Joanne's frantic crying and the sounds of struggling. "No! Please, let me go! I promise I won't tell anyone! Please!" The recording ended abruptly with Joanne's desperate sobbing. Joanne had already covered her face and broken down in tears. Her entire body was trembling. Ruth suddenly stood up and pointed at us as she screamed. "Did you hear that? These two monsters planned everything together! "They tricked my daughter into their home just so that man could force himself on her!" The courtroom went into an uproar. Some people even had tears in their eyes. "I feel so bad for this woman and her daughter. How could they have been unlucky enough to encounter such a disgusting couple?" "Arrest the woman too! An accomplice is just as guilty!" Amid the furious shouting, I clenched my fists. "How can you prove that the voice belongs to my husband?" The plaintiff's attorney turned to face me. "The evidence is right here. According to technical voice comparison, there is a 95 percent probability that the voice belongs to Gary." Even in the face of such evidence, I answered without hesitation, "That's impossible. That voice doesn't belong to my husband!" I knew for certain that Joanne could never have met my husband. Chapter 3 Joanne's attorney, Jason Miller frowned deeply. "Ms. Jenner, this evidence has been professionally authenticated. YYour baseless denial isn’t enough to disprove it!" Joanne wiped away her tears. "T-That was a recording I secretly started while he had me pinned beneath him. I did everything I could to press the record button without him noticing. Every word and every cry was real! "How can you still lie through your teeth when things have come this far?" By the time she finished speaking, she was almost too overcome with sobs to continue. Her shoulders shook violently and made her look utterly pitiful. I sneered again. "There are plenty of people in this world with similar voices. Why are you so certain it was my husband?" Jason looked at me and sneered. "If the defendant feels that the evidence isn't convincing enough, then I have a second piece of evidence." He lowered his head and continued operating the computer. A moment later, the large screen at the front of the courtroom lit up. A video began playing. It was surveillance footage from the living room of my home. The timestamp showed the night I had left for my trip. The lights in the living room were dim. A man opened the front door and walked inside. He walked directly toward Joanne, who was standing in the living room. "Are you Joanne? Tsk. She wasn't lying. You really are quite a pretty little thing." Before he had even finished speaking, he reached out and grabbed Joanne by the wrist. The bottle in Joanne's hand fell to the floor. She struggled weakly and cried out in terror. "What are you doing?! Let me go! Help!" The man easily overpowered her. After several rough tugs, he grabbed her around the waist, hoisted her over his shoulder. He then walked toward the bedroom. The bedroom door slammed shut with a loud bang. Moments later, faint cries and sounds of struggling seeped through the crack in the door. They matched the audio recording played earlier almost perfectly. The video cut off there. Jason turned around and spoke in a grave voice. "This is surveillance footage recovered from the cameras inside the defendant's home! "According to professional comparison, the man's build and clothing closely match Gary Levine's!" He then turned to face me. "Ms. Jenner, are you still going to claim that this isn't Gary?" The spectators started yelling again. "The evidence is overwhelming! The footage is perfectly clear!" "She could deny it before, but let's see how she talks her way out of this now!" Someone even stood up and shouted furiously, "Why waste time arguing with such a heartless accomplice? Your Honor, pass judgment already! Let them rot in prison!" Under countless hostile, contemptuous, and furious gazes, I slowly rose to my feet. My gaze locked onto Joanne. "You keep insisting that the man was my husband. Then let me ask you this. Before this happened, had you ever actually met Gary in person?" Joanne stood up with one hand supporting her protruding belly. "I worked in your house for three months. How could I possibly have never seen your husband? "He opened your front door as if he belonged there. His build and clothing matched too. Who else could he be but your husband?" The spectators immediately began insulting me again. "The recording and video evidence are right in front of her, yet she still refuses to admit it!" "What a vile woman! Helping a rapist bully a helpless young woman. Disgusting!" "You can tell just by looking at her that she's no better than her husband! They're both the same!" The filthy insults filled the courtroom. I took a deep breath and looked across the room. "I've said it before. My husband never forced himself on her!" I turned to face the judge. "The plaintiff's attorney is identifying the man based solely on his build and clothing. That is not a valid identification! "It is entirely reasonable for me to suspect that the man in the surveillance footage is not my husband!" Jason sneered. "I see you won't give up until you're forced to face the facts!" With that, he reached into the folder in front of him and retrieved a document. Chapter 4 Jason projected the document onto the large screen. He then announced loudly, "This is the DNA test report comparing the fetus carried by the victim with Gary! "The report shows that the fetus and Gary have a biological parent-child relationship." The report struck the courtroom like a thunderclap. Unlike the video footage, which could still have been disputed, this DNA report appeared to be irrefutable evidence. Joanne slowly stood up with tears in her eyes. "With all this evidence, what else do you have to say?" I pointed at the report. My tone was still firm. "That report is forged. Joanne could never have obtained a DNA sample from my husband." Joanne glared at me in disbelief. Her eyes were red from crying. "You! How much longer are you going to keep denying it? "I personally pulled the hair that was sent for testing from Gary's head while he was raping me!" Ruth immediately began wailing at the judge. "Your Honor, the evidence is conclusive! My daughter is carrying that monster's child! "She was an innocent young woman! They ruined her life. Let them rot in prison!" The courtroom instantly went into an uproar, and the spectators' fury reached its peak. "Even the DNA matches! How can these monsters still have the nerve to deny it? They deserve the harshest possible punishment!" "Is that woman mentally ill? The evidence is overwhelming, yet she still refuses to admit it. She's just as irredeemably vile as her husband!" "I bet she's a sick pervert herself! Maybe she actually enjoys protecting a rapist!" Just as the outrage in the courtroom reached its peak, I didn't surrender or admit guilt. Instead, I burst out laughing. My laughter sounded especially jarring in the solemn courtroom. Everyone stared at me in shock like I had gone insane. Jason was the first to react. "The defendant has not only shown absolutely no remorse, but has actually laughed in court! I ask Your Honor to deal with her severely!" Ruth glared at me and pointed an accusing finger. "You vile woman! You're no better than your husband! Both of you belong in hell!" The spectators joined in by hurling the most vicious insults they could think of. Ignoring every word they said, I slowly stood up at the judge's signal. "I deny every single accusation they have made. "My husband could never have assaulted Joanne, much less gotten her pregnant." The courtroom went into an uproar as soon as I said that. Joanne pointed at me with her protruding belly on full display. Her voice was choked with tears. "The child I'm carrying is Gary's! "How much longer are you going to keep denying it?" Ruth pounded on her chest and wailed. "These two monsters still refuse to admit their crimes even now! They've ruined my daughter! They should be sentenced to death!" The moment she finished speaking, the spectators erupted into another wave of curses directed at my husband and me. "The man is too scared to show his face, while the woman stands here making a scene! They're a perfect match! Just sentence them both to death!" "That woman is an accomplice! She deliberately set everything up. The cruelty of her scheme is beyond imagination!" "They're so messed up! They should be utterly disgraced, and their whole family should die out!" Ignoring the insults, I fixed my gaze and stared directly at Joanne. "You claim that Gary assaulted you, but that is impossible both logically and physically." Joanne abruptly stood up with one hand pressed against her slightly rounded belly as if she were furious beyond words. "My belly is already showing, and you still want to twist the truth?" I didn't answer. Instead, I gave a look to my lawyer, who had just arrived in a hurry. He nodded before immediately retrieving a document from his folder and handing it to me. I turned to face the judge. "Your Honor, I request permission to submit my first piece of evidence." After the judge nodded, I raised the document for everyone to see. The moment everyone saw what was written on it, they gasped.
