My Fiancé Gave Me Nine Boyfriends While I Faked Amnesia
My fiancé hired eight men to date me while I "lost my memory"—so I faked amnesia for two years, then slept with his best friend on my wedding night.

第1章
Three years into my intermittent amnesia, I overhear my boyfriend, Ryan Cole, chatting with his buddies.
“Ryan, Willow loses her memory every few months. The eight of us have been taking turns pretending to be you and dating her for three years.”
“But your wedding’s coming up. So when are you finally taking over?”
“No rush.” Ryan pulls the woman beside him closer, smiling casually.
“Tessa’s pregnant. She needs me right now. I can’t leave her.”
“I’m taking Tessa to Iceland next month to see the northern lights. So one of you will have to stand in at the wedding for me again.”
“Oh, and one more thing.” His tone stays lazy, but the warning is clear. “You guys can play along all you want, but don’t actually sleep with her. I’m serious.”
For the past three years, every man who held my hand, hugged me, or even slept beside me after one of my memory lapses was never the real Ryan.
Three years.
Eight memory lapses.
Eight different men had taken turns playing my boyfriend.
But what they don’t know is that my memory came back two years ago.
…
Ryan lights a cigarette and says, almost lazily:
“I’m going to make it official with Tessa at the courthouse, then take her to Iceland for a private wedding. She’s pregnant with my baby. I owe her that much.”
“Just keep Willow off my back for now. Once Tessa has the baby, I’ll switch back.”
Tessa Shaw is Ryan’s assistant.
Ever since she showed up, Ryan has had eyes for no one else.
Someone in the room finally snaps.
“You don’t think that makes you a complete bastard? Willow has been with you for years. You’re really doing this to her, and you don’t feel guilty?”
Ryan flicks ash from his cigarette, calm and unhurried.
“What I feel for Willow now isn’t love. It’s obligation.”
That is when I push open the door.
The room goes silent.
Josh Miller, one of Ryan’s friends, walks over, takes my hand, and puts on an affectionate smile.
“Willow, what are you doing here?”
He is the one playing Ryan this time.
I pull my hand away and look at him like I have never seen him before.
“Who are you?”
Josh’s eyes widen.
“You… you forgot again?”
“I don’t remember anything,” I say calmly. “I only remember that my name is Willow Bennett. My boyfriend is Ryan Cole. We grew up together. And our wedding is on May twentieth.”
Josh rushes over to Ryan and leans in close, lowering his voice.
“Ryan, please, pick someone else. Willow’s great and all, but she’s way too possessive. She’s got rules for everything. I seriously can’t take it anymore.”
Everyone in the room holds their breath, terrified Ryan might pick them next.
After three years of dating me, everyone knows I’m a lot to handle when it comes to relationships.
Ryan looks around the room.
Finally, he pulls one man forward and puts him in front of me.
“This is Ryan. Your boyfriend.”
I stare at the tall, handsome man in front of me, momentarily stunned.
Damon Hayes.
Manhattan’s famously untouchable golden boy.
And the same man who just spoke up for me.
Perfect.
Handsome. Powerful. From the right family.
Not a bad choice.
I throw myself into Damon’s arms.
“That’s right. You’re my boyfriend. I may have lost my memory, but I’d know you anywhere.”
Damon stiffens.
But he catches on quickly. He wraps one arm around me, awkward and tense.
“Yeah,” he says stiffly. “I’m your boyfriend. These are all my friends.”
Damon starts introducing everyone in the room, one by one.
When he gets to the real Ryan, Tessa suddenly wraps her arms around Ryan’s neck and kisses him deeply in front of everyone.
I watch them without any expression.
Tessa lifts her head and gives me a taunting smile.
“You’re not jealous?”
I blink at her, confused.
“He’s not my boyfriend. Why would I be jealous?”
Ryan’s face darkens.
Tessa, however, looks satisfied.
“Good. Looks like she really did forget again.”
Damon clears his throat and takes my hand.
“Willow, it’s too loud in here. Let me take you home.”
The moment we step out, I hear one of Ryan’s friends teasing him behind us.
“Ryan, what are you staring at? She’s already gone. What, you already miss her?”
第2章
“Of course not.”
Ryan pauses for a moment, then says lightly, “She’s been clinging to me for years. I got tired of her a long time ago. If Grandpa Cole hadn’t made me promise to marry her before he died, I would’ve broken up with her ages ago.”
I freeze where I stand, my eyes suddenly stinging.
Ryan and I grew up together.
When we were ten, both our parents died in the same accident.
Mr. Cole, the old man who lived next door, took us in and raised us like his own.
We called him Grandpa Cole.
After he died, Ryan and I were all each other had.
For years, we survived together.
We collected cans for cash, ate whatever we could dig out of trash bags, and slept under bridges when we had nowhere else to go.
Later, someone influential took Ryan under his wing and helped him break into Manhattan’s elite circle.
Ryan fought his way up from nothing and finally made a name for himself.
Our lives got better and better.
But somehow, we drifted farther and farther apart.
I follow Damon home.
The second we step inside, I wrap my arms around Damon’s waist and look up at him.
“Ryan, I remember you had a mole on your chin. Where did it go?”
Damon goes stiff.
“A… a mole?”
“Nothing.” I smile vaguely. “It doesn’t matter.”
Whether he is really Ryan or not no longer matters.
“Willow, get some sleep.”
Maybe I am holding him too tightly. Damon gently pushes me away, then practically escapes into the guest room.
Ryan bought this apartment three years ago.
Over the past three years, including Damon, nine different men have stayed here.
Ryan is the only one who never has.
His friends respected the line he drew. No matter how convincing their act was, they never got intimate with me.
Damon is the same.
Damon and I live together peacefully for a while.
One day, he takes me to urgent care for a bad cold.
By pure coincidence, we run into Ryan and Tessa.
“What a coincidence,” Tessa says, greeting us first.
I look at her coldly, then turn to Damon.
“You never got around to introducing these two last time.”
“Hi,” Ryan says before Damon can answer, probably afraid Damon will slip up. “I’m Damon Hayes, Ryan’s good friend. This is my girlfriend, Tessa. We’re here for a prenatal appointment.”
Tessa strokes her slightly rounded stomach and starts showing off without being asked.
“My boyfriend is so protective of this baby. He brings me in every two weeks for checkups. He’s terrified something might go wrong.”
Then she leans into Ryan’s arms on purpose, as if she’s trying to jog my memory.
“Willow, since you don’t remember, let me fill you in. I was the other woman who ended up with him. My boyfriend had a girlfriend before me. They even had a baby together.”
“But three years ago, his ex and I were both caught in the same car accident. He chose to save me, and his ex was the one who got hit. She was five months pregnant, and she lost the baby.”
“And he said he didn’t regret it. In his eyes, I mattered more than anything.”
I freeze, my heart aching like I’ve been stabbed all over again.
Every time I think about that baby, I lie awake all night. The pain is almost unbearable.
But to her, it is a joke.
Something she can bring up casually just to hurt me.
Talking about the past seems to stir something in Ryan, too. For a moment, his expression goes distant, as if he’s remembering something.
After a short silence, I force myself to smile.
“Oh. So where is his ex now?”
“Now?” Tessa curls her lips and looks at me with pure contempt. “Right now, she’s being passed around by nine different men like some cheap slut…”
“Shut up!”
Ryan and Damon snap at the same time.
A moment later, Ryan realizes he has lost control. He coughs awkwardly.
“Tessa, don’t bring up the past. I only love you now.”
I do not want to watch them perform anymore.
I turn to Damon.
“I’m going to the restroom.”
I have barely walked away when Ryan follows me.
Outside the restroom, he stands behind me, staring. There is something in his eyes I cannot read.
“Willow,” he says, breaking the silence first. “How have you been lately? Are you still… having trouble sleeping?”
“Damon—your boyfriend, I mean. Is he good to you?”
I don’t even look at him.
“What does it have to do with you whether my boyfriend treats me well?”
“Mr. Hayes, you have a girlfriend, and you’re saying things like this to me. What, are you trying to hit on me?”
Ryan chokes.
I let out a cold laugh.
“My boyfriend is a thousand times better than you. I’m really not interested.”
I turn to leave, but Ryan grabs my wrist.
His eyes darken as he stares at me, his expression starting to slip.
“Say that again. He’s better than me?”
A furious voice suddenly comes from behind us.
“What the hell are you two doing?”
第3章
Tessa storms over and slaps me hard across the face.
“You slut! Are you trying to seduce my man?”
“Tessa, you misunderstood.” Ryan reaches for her.
“I don’t care!” Tessa shakes him off, lifting her chin with arrogance. “She was seducing you. I want this bitch on her knees, groveling at my feet. Otherwise, I’m not having this baby.”
Ryan falls silent for a moment.
In the end, he gives in.
“Willow, apologize to Tessa.”
“Why should I?”
“Because I’m the one he loves.” Tessa crosses her arms, smug and triumphant. “Willow, you can lose your memory a thousand times, ten thousand times. You’ll never take my man from me.”
For three years, this kind of thing has happened more times than I can count.
Tessa never got tired of showing off Ryan’s love for her.
And Ryan always, without fail, chose her side.
But this time, I’m done putting up with it.
Slap.
I slap her back, harder than she slapped me.
“Willow!”
Ryan’s face twists with fury. He grabs my wrist and snaps, “Tessa is pregnant. How could you hit her that hard? Apologize to her. Now.”
Looking at the furious man in front of me, I almost want to laugh.
Before Grandpa Cole died, Ryan knelt beside his bed and made him a promise.
“Grandpa, don’t worry. I’ll take good care of Willow. I’ll love her, protect her, and never let anyone hurt her.”
But now, he has betrayed what we had.
And he is hurting me for another woman.
Every promise he ever made has turned into a lie.
Through my grief and anger, a cold voice cuts in from behind me.
“Let her go.”
Damon rushes over and pulls me into his arms, shielding me.
He looks at Ryan and Tessa coldly.
“Willow is my girlfriend now. Nobody puts a hand on her while I’m standing here.”
Damon’s arms feel strong and steady around me.
For the first time in three years, I feel safe.
I curl into his arms.
Suddenly, the whole thing feels pointless.
“Ryan, I want to go home.”
“Okay.” Damon pats my shoulder gently. “Let’s go home.”
That night, just before I fall asleep, Damon suddenly leaves the guest room.
I quietly follow him downstairs and catch him arguing with Ryan.
Damon looks furious.
“Ryan, Willow has been with you for years. You’re really treating her like this today because of Tessa?”
“Tessa is pregnant. I don’t have a choice.” Ryan’s expression is unreadable.
“What about Willow?” Damon snaps, standing up for me. “She’s been with you for years. She even lost a child because of you. How can you do this to her?”
Ryan is silent for a long time.
Then he sighs.
“You can’t have everything. If I have to choose… then I have to let Willow go.”
He had already given up on me once.
Three years ago, Tessa and I were in car accidents at the same time. When both our lives were on the line, he chose Tessa without hesitation.
I miscarried, suffered a serious head injury, and lost my memory.
And when I needed him most, he brought one of his friends to me and told me with no emotion at all,
“Willow, this is your boyfriend, Ryan. If you need anything, go to him.”
For three years, Ryan had nine of his friends take turns pretending to be him, so he could spend that time playing happy couple with Tessa.
And I played dumb and went along with the charade for three years.
But now, I am tired of this game.
I am done playing.
